Bio Sketch


Dr. Sarah Brown David has recently returned to Michigan after 19 years in the San Francisco Bay area in California. She grew up in Mayville, Michigan graduating from Mayville High School. She attended Michigan State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology. After her Bachelor’s degree she pursued a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Michigan University. After working for a couple years with both developmentally disabled adults and patients with cognitive deficits after a traumatic brain injury, Dr. David pursued a Doctorate of Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology in the San Francisco Bay area.

Dr. David worked in Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) for her practicum, pre-doctoral internship, and post-doctoral fellowship with clients presenting with a wide variety of symptoms related to difficulties such as anxiety, depression, grief/loss, trauma, and transitional difficulties.

Upon becoming a licensed psychologist in the state of California, Dr. David opened a private practice that she maintained for over 10 years until her move back to Michigan. In this practice, she worked with a diverse population of individuals and couples for a variety of issues. These difficulties included substance use difficulties, relational problems, trauma recovery, coping with medical issues of self

Dr. David works collaboratively with clients from an integrative perspective to help individuals change ways of being that are no longer serving them, deepen understanding of relational dynamics, enhance self awareness, understand the impact of the past on the present, and develop more effective skills and tools for coping. She draws upon empirically supported treatments like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness based interventions.
