Bio Sketch


Steven Silverman, MD is an interventional pain management specialist and provides non-surgical management for a variety of pain conditions including lumbar disk herniations, degenerative disk disease, cervical radiculopathy, cervical and lumbar stenosis, headaches and other pain syndromes.

He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Toledo in Ohio and received his Medical Doctorate from Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio. He completed a transitional internship at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota and residency in Anesthesiology and fellowship in Pain Management at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

After completing his training, Dr. Silverman became a staff anesthesiologist at the Coordinated Chronic Pain Program at the University of Michigan Medical Center and also directed the Pain Services for the Department of Anesthesiology at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Ann Arbor. After leaving the University of Michigan, he became the Director of the Center for Pain Management at W.A. Foote Memorial Hospital in Jackson, Michigan.

Dr. Silverman then worked at Michigan Headache and Neurological Institute in Ann Arbor where he specialized in the treatment of Head and Neck Pain. He then joined Michigan Pain Institute, practicing general pain management and treating patients at Chelsea Community Hospital as well as St. Joseph Mercy Pain Institute.

Prior to joining Jagannathan Neurosurgery, Dr. Silverman was founder and director of Chelsea Pain Clinic PLLC, treating a variety of pain conditions. Dr. Silverman is board certified in Anesthesiology with subspecialty board certification in Pain Management by the American Board of Anesthesiology.

Dr. Silverman is a nationally recognized expert specialist in the use of minimally invasive surgical technique in the treatment of head and neck pain.
