Bio Sketch


Jim has spent most of his life and career in Michigan. He grew up in Cadillac, Michigan and graduated from Cadillac High School. He spent time serving his country in the United States. After being honorably discharged from the United States army, Jim attended Baker College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, Magna Cum Laude. Upon completion of his bachelor degree, Jim pursued his Master of Science in Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner degree at Chamberlain College of Nursing while gaining experience as a floor nurse Jim is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).

Jim has worked as a registered nurse at a large northern Michigan healthcare system for 7 years and has held leadership roles as a super user, preceptor and charge nurse. Throughout his nursing career, he has worked in a wide variety of patients which include medical, surgical and emergency. He has spent most of his career in progressive care working with cardiac patients. During his time in graduate school he worked with many specialty groups to include code grey team, internal medicine, cardiac step-down , emergency medicine and step down intensive care unit.

Jim has provided nursing care and treatment to patients with various of complex ailments. He provides compassionate, quality care that is centered around his patients and the family members. He enjoys collaborating with physicians, mid-level providers, nurses, respiratory therapists, social workers, and the many other multidisciplinary health care teams which it takes to care for everyday patients in both the outpatient and inpatient setting. He hopes to provide the excellent care that every patient with neurologic disease deserves.

During his free time, Jim enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his wife, children and two dogs Labrador Retrievers who are training to be therapy dogs (to be able to take into nursing homes and hospitals). Jim also enjoys time outdoors, golfing, bowling, walking and hiking, traveling, cooking, home improvements and is a licensed HAM radio operator.

  • Masters of Science in Nursing
    with concentration of Family Nurse Practitioner from Chamberlain College of Nursing April 22nd, 2018.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Baker College awarded August 2014 after Earning Associates Degree on June 12th, 2012.
