Speciality: Adult-gerontology Acute Care

Bio Sketch

Lisa earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Valley State University and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan. She began her nursing career working on a neurology and neurosurgery inpatient unit where she managed patients with strokes and who were post-op spinal surgery. From there, she transitioned to a level 1 trauma and burn ICU where she managed critically ill patients, including those with spinal trauma and hemorrhagic strokes. In graduate school, Lisa worked in a variety of acute care settings, including critical care and observation units.

Lisa enjoys working with neurosurgery patients because most times, these patients present with symptoms that are very debilitating and the interventions they receive can dramatically improve their quality of life; she enjoys being a part of this process and seeing the life-changing results.

In her free time, Lisa partakes in outdoor summer and winter activities and enjoys taking walks with her dog Ruby and traveling to new places.
